Quang Tri Border Guard receives Second Class Medal of Honor

Quang Tri - Quang Tri Border Guard was awarded the Second Class Medal for outstanding achievements on the front line of maintaining border security.

On June 23, the Border Guard Command of Quang Tri province held a ceremony to receive the Second Class Medal of Honor awarded by the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Hoang Nam - Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Ms. Ly Kieu Van - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee and representatives of leaders of departments, branches, sectors and armed forces of Quang Tri province.

In recent times, under the leadership of the Border Guard Command and the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee of Quang Tri province, with the coordination and support of forces, units, officers and soldiers of the Border Guard province, many important feats have been achieved, contributing to maintaining political security and social order and safety in the border area.

In particular, in the QT324 project, the provincial Border Guard force coordinated to arrest 11 Laotian citizens, seize 100 kg of synthetic drugs in the form of crystal meth and a 16-seat car, this is an outstanding feat in the fight against transnational drug crimes.

In recognition of that special achievement, the President decided to award the Second Class Medal of Military Exploit to the collective of the Border Guard Command of Quang Tri province and 2 outstanding individuals.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Nam highly appreciated the brave fighting spirit and responsibility of the officers and soldiers of the Provincial Border Guard, and at the same time requested the force to continue promoting the tradition and effectively advising the Party committees and authorities in protecting territorial sovereignty and border security.

In addition, he also emphasized the key task of resolutely fighting and suppressing all types of crimes, especially drug crimes, smuggling, trade fraud, human trafficking, illegal entry and exit, not allowing the formation of a security and order hot spot in the border area. The Border Guard force needs to continue to closely coordinate with functional forces, do a good job of international cooperation, and maintain the people's border defense posture in the new situation.
