Previously, on the afternoon of August 20, while charging the battery on fishing boat QNg 94695 TS, Mr. Nguyen Thuong (born in 1981, residing in Quang Ngai province) suddenly had an accident, the battery exploded, causing him to suffer severe eye burns.
At around 12:20 on August 21, the patient was admitted to Truong Sa Island Infirmary in a state of severe burning pain, red eyes, flowing tears and difficulty seeing.
Through examination, doctors determined that the patient had damage to the cornea and conjunctivity of both eyes, with the risk of vision loss.
Fishermen were advised to wash their eyes, take antibiotics, fight inflammation, relieve pain and be closely monitored.
Thanks to timely emergency care, the patient's condition was initially controlled.
The fact that Truong Sa Island infirmary quickly handled emergency cases not only contributes to protecting the health and lives of fishermen but also affirms the important role of the military medical force at the front line.
It is a reliable support for officers, soldiers and fishermen operating in Truong Sa fishing grounds.
