On the afternoon of February 24, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ha - Chief of Office of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee - confirmed that Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh has just signed a decision to recognize the two poor districts of Khanh Son, Khanh Vinh and Van Thanh commune (Van Ninh district) of Khanh Hoa province as escape poverty in 2025.
According to this decision, the above localities will be removed from the list of poor districts and the list of particularly disadvantaged communes in coastal, coastal and island areas for the period 2021-2025 according to Decision No. 353 dated March 15, 2022 of the Prime Minister.
The Government requires Khanh Hoa province to prioritize the allocation of local budgets and mobilization of other legal resources to continue completing the infrastructure system in Khanh Son, Khanh Vinh and Van Thanh communes. The goal is to ensure service for people, promote production, trade, the circulation of goods and provide basic social services, ensuring sustainability after poverty reduction.
At the same time, the People's Committees of Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh districts are directed to continue to fully implement poverty reduction policies, maintain and improve the quality of criteria for determining poor districts in the period of 2021-2025. The Government requires focusing on the criteria for the rate of poor and near-poor households according to the multidimensional poverty standard for the period 2022-2025, while improving the socio-economic development level of commune-level administrative units in the area.
Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee is responsible for prioritizing resources to continue to fully implement poverty reduction policies and complete the infrastructure system for Van Thanh commune, helping people easily access basic social services.
The Government emphasizes the need to maintain and improve the quality of criteria for assessing communes with special difficulties in coastal areas, coastal areas and islands, ensuring that the criteria for the rate of poor households, infrastructure and basic social services are maintained and developed sustainably after escaping poverty.
Along with the above decision, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh also signed a decision to remove Loc Binh commune (Phu Loc district, Thua Thien Hue) from the list of particularly disadvantaged communes in coastal areas and islands for the period 2021-2025 according to Decision No. 353 dated March 15, 2022 of the Prime Minister.
The recognition of localities that have escaped poverty this time is an important milestone, affirming the efforts of the government and people in poverty reduction and sustainable socio-economic development.
