On September 21, Phu Hung Pagoda (Cai Ngang commune) coordinated with local authorities to organize the presentation of 150 gifts to poor, near-poor households and households in difficult circumstances.
Each gift is worth 360,000 VND, including rice, essential necessities and 100,000 VND in cash, helping people reduce difficulties in life.
The total budget for implementing the program is more than 50 million VND, mobilized from benefactors inside and outside the province.
Speaking at the gift-giving ceremony, Venerable Thich Minh Ly - Abbot of Phu Hung Pagoda said that this work aims to spread the spirit of compassion, share love in the community, and encourage people to overcome difficulties.
"We hope that with a small gift, households will have more faith and determination to rise up in life," said the Venerable.
Mr. Luu Tri Thien - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Cai Ngang commune expressed his gratitude to the pagoda and the benefactors for their concern and support for the poor in the locality.
He also hopes that in the coming time, he will continue to receive the support of many organizations and individuals, to join hands to care for people facing many difficulties.
