On August 2, the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province said that the unit's working group had conducted a field survey to propose investment in the construction of inter-level primary and secondary boarding schools in border communes.
The survey team was led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Xuan - Director of the Department. The first survey location is Ea Bung commune.
Previously, the Department of Education and Training proposed that the Provincial People's Committee build an inter-level boarding school in 4 border communes bordering Mondulkiri province (Cambodia), including: Buon Don, Ea Bung, Ia Hop and Ia Rie. Each commune will have a school.
Currently, in these 4 border communes, there are a total of 13 schools (7 primary schools, 6 secondary schools) with 4,387 students. Of which, 3,852 students (accounting for 87.8%) study 2 sessions/day, including 2,059 primary school students and 1,343 secondary school students.
According to the assessment of the education sector, investing in building schools in border communes is very necessary.
Currently, the facilities at schools in the area have degraded, lacking functional rooms; teaching work has not met the requirements according to the 2018 General Education Program.
Notably, all 4 border communes mentioned above do not have high schools, nor boarding or semi-boarding schools, while the demand for boarding school learning of students is very high.
