On the morning of April 5, a working group of the Ministry of Public Security and the Naval Region 4 Command visited the Gac Ma Soldiers Memorial Site (Cam Lam District, Khanh Hoa) to offer incense and commemorate the 64 Vietnamese Navy soldiers who heroically sacrificed their lives in the fall of Ma on March 14, 2018.
The memorial area was built on an area of over 25,000m2, located on the east side of Nguyen Tat Thanh Avenue, Cam Hai Dong Commune. This is a place to commemorate the heroic sacrifice of 64 Vietnamese Navy soldiers while protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
The memorial area includes the entrance square, Gac Ma soldier monument, underground display area, wind grave, Hoa Binh square and nostalgic path. The cultural work is bold in the spirit of the sea and islands, showing deep gratitude to the generations of Vietnamese people who have regretted blood and bone to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands.
At the ceremony, delegates respectfully offered flowers at the foot of the monument "Those who lie on the horizon" and observed a minute of silence to commemorate 64 heroic martyrs.
The delegation also offered incense at the wind Head Area, where 64 heroic martyrs who died in the battle of Gu Ma were honored.
On this occasion, the working group also visited and presented gifts to officers and soldiers of Brigade 189 of Naval Region 4, expressing their concern and encouragement to the soldiers who are day and night guarding the sea and sky of the Fatherland.
