Every morning in Lang Sang village, Ta Xua commune, Son La province, fog covers winding dirt roads leading to the school point. Although life is still difficult, Mong ethnic children are still regularly taken to class by their families every day, according to VNA.
Located in the high mountainous area of Ta Xua special-use forest, Lang Sang school point of Hang Dong Primary and Secondary School is a place of arduous teaching for teachers. The school point currently has 5 classes with 120 students. Among them, 2 elementary classes have 54 students in charge by 3 male teachers; 3 preschool classes have 66 students in charge by 4 female teachers.

To maintain the number of students, for many years, teachers and village heads, and women's unions have regularly visited each household to mobilize parents to take their children to school.
Ms. Thao Thi Dau - Head of the Women's Union of Lang Sang village - said that in the rainy season, dirt roads are slippery, many slopes make it even more difficult for young students to go to class. Many children have to walk from early morning, crossing roads covered in fog to be on time for school.
Attached to the school for 15 years, teacher Lo Van Huan understands the circumstances of each student's family. According to teacher Huan, in addition to the lack of facilities, the biggest difficulty is maintaining education in the living conditions of the highland people who still have many obstacles.
Many 1st grade students are still young but still walk to school every day. On cold winter days, seeing students shivering in the cold mist, teachers feel even more sorry for their students and are determined to stick to the village and keep the class.
In kindergarten, teacher Lo Thi Hao and her colleagues pick up children from early morning. For teachers, taking care of students is not only teaching but also taking care of every meal and sleep for parents. Many children are timid when they come to class for the first time and cannot speak the common language, so teachers must patiently guide each small skill.

In the 1st grade Vietnamese class, teacher Luong Van Duong wholeheartedly taught students to spell each letter. Em Mua Thi Pang shared that she likes to go to school because she can learn to spell and play with friends. Those innocent words become a motivation for teachers to continue to stick with the highland school point.
According to Mr. Tran Viet Cuong - Principal of Hang Dong Primary and Secondary School - the school always strives to maintain the quality of education, minimizing students dropping out of school. After grade 2, students will continue to study semi-boarding at the main school to reduce travel difficulties.
At the end of the 2025 - 2026 school year, Lang Sang school point had 52/54 1st and 2nd grade students promoted to higher grades, reaching 96%. In which, grade 1 had 3 excellent students, 3 typical students; grade 2 had 5 typical students.
Amidst the clouds of Ta Xua mountains, small steps still persistently cross the slope to class every day, carrying hope for a brighter future.
