Squadron 42 shares and supports people in difficulty

Squadron 42 has carried out emulation movements with savings from capital funds and called on officers and soldiers to donate and support.

On April 2, in Nam Can - Ca Mau district, Squadron 42, Command of Coast Guard Region 4 held a Conference to summarize the emulation movement "Army joins hands to build new rural areas" and the emulation movement "Coast Guard joins hands for the poor - No one is left behind" for the period 2021 - 2025.

In recent years, Squadron 42 has carried out emulation movements with savings from capital funds and called on officers and soldiers to donate and support with an amount of more than 500 million VND; mobilized 5 tons of cement, nearly 5.5 blocks of stone and sand, over 2,000 working days.

Coordinate with local government committees to repair and pour concrete on inter-village traffic routes with a length of nearly 50 km, renovate, upgrade and build a Hang Vinh hamlet cultural house; dredge and repair over 65 km of canals, clean road axes, plant more than 2,000 mangrove trees (in Hiep Tung commune, Nam Can district and Dat Mui commune, Ngoc Hien district).

Sharing the difficulties of people in saline areas in Nam Can, the Squadron organized a free distribution of 900 20-liter bottles of purified drinking water, supported more than 500 boxes of instant noodles, 200 gifts of necessities, medical supplies and presented many other valuable gifts. Organize visits, encourage and give gifts to policy families, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, people with revolutionary contributions, households in especially difficult circumstances, poor students overcoming difficulties on holidays and Tet.

Closely coordinate with the People's Committees of Nam Can district, Ngoc Hien district, Phu Tan district, U Minh district, Tran Van Thoi district (Ca Mau province), Hoa Binh district (Bac Lieu province) to effectively organize the contest "I love my homeland's sea and islands" and the program "Coast Guard accompanies fishermen".

At the same time, organize legal dissemination to the people about the sovereignty of Vietnam's sea and islands; regulations on combating IUU fishing; propagate against the harmful effects of drugs and school violence in schools to raise awareness among people and students.

In particular, Squadron 42 has closely combined the task of patrolling, controlling, and enforcing the law at sea with the task of disseminating the law to fishermen. From 2021 to present, the Squadron has promoted to more than 2,500 fishing vessels/16,000 fishermen, distributed more than 16,000 propaganda leaflets and Coast Guard legal handbooks, presented nearly 3,000 national flags, provided medical support, fresh water, and food to hundreds of fishing vessels.

Lieutenant Colonel Trinh Minh Hien - Political Commissar of the Navy Corps affirmed that in the period of 2021 - 2025, the emulation movement of Squadron 42 has been effective, bringing many outstanding results; closely coordinating with local Party committees, authorities and people to complete the criteria for building new rural areas, model villages, advanced rural areas and actively contributing to the work of poverty reduction in the locality, building a close, close and affectionate solidarity.

The Political Commissar awarded a certificate of merit to the CSB Ship collective in 2004 for their outstanding achievements in implementing the Emulation Movement.
