On the morning of October 17, the People's Committee of Hai Duong city, Hai Duong province held a ceremony to honor outstanding citizens, Thanh Dong People - Good words, good actions and awarded prizes for art composition contests to celebrate the 220th anniversary of Thanh Dong's founding and the 70th anniversary of Hai Duong city's liberation.
Attending the program were Mr. Le Ngoc Chau - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Ma The Anh - Director of the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and leaders of Central agencies, leaders of Hai Duong province and city.
In order to honor and reward individuals with outstanding achievements that have spread in each field, contributing to the construction and development of the city, the People's Committee of Hai Duong city has selected 38 individuals, of which the decision was made to award the title of "Outstanding Citizen" to 16 individuals, and the typical example of "Thanh Dong People - Good words, good actions" to 22 individuals.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Le Ngoc Chau - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Duong province - said that the selected individuals are exemplary people in any field, in any working position, through specific, practical daily actions, they have demonstrated the spirit of effort, striving, determination to contribute to the locality, agency, unit, contributing to building Hai Duong city to be more and more civilized and prosperous.
At the same time, at the conference, the People's Committee of Hai Duong city also awarded prizes to 42 authors with 47 winning works in the art composition contests celebrating the 220th anniversary of the founding of Thanh Dong and the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Hai Duong city.
The winning works were selected from 11 thousand entries by many authors from many provinces and cities across the country such as: Hanoi, Hai Duong, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Ha Giang, Can Tho... with content reflecting the people and cultural traditions throughout the history of formation and development of Hai Duong city.
The songwriting contest about Hai Duong city selected 10 works for awards, including 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes, and 5 consolation prizes.
The writing contest “Hai Duong - The City I Love” has selected 11 works for awards, including 1 B prize, 3 C prizes, 6 Encouragement prizes and 1 Most Favorite prize from readers.
The photo contest and art photography exhibition selected 15 works for awards, including 3 second prizes, 5 third prizes, and 7 consolation prizes.
The contest to create sculptures associated with the urban space of Hai Duong city, a civilized, friendly and safe city, has selected 11 works for awards, including 1 B prize, C prize, and 9 Encouragement prizes.
Hai Duong City People's Committee has selected 51 works from the photo contest and 32 winning works from the song contest, writing contest, and sculpture contest to display at the Eastern Culture Center on October 17-18.
