At the meeting, Mr. Bui Van Luyen, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoa Binh province reported on the implementation of the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for the poor in the province as of December 10, 2024.
Accordingly, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province has proactively guided the Fatherland Front system at all levels to coordinate with the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs and the Department of Ethnic Minorities to review the number of poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households living in temporary and dilapidated houses.
As a result, the whole province has 3,194 households with temporary houses and dilapidated houses in urgent need of support to build houses that meet the criteria. Of these, 911 houses were repaired, 1,066 houses were supported; and 1,217 houses needed to be demolished.
Regarding mobilization work, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoa Binh province proactively grasps information, contacts sponsoring units to guide procedures when units need to present signs for communication work; provides receiving accounts, lists, and temporary housing records; signs sponsorship agreements; organizes house inaugurations in localities from sponsoring units' sources. The total source of temporary housing elimination that has been transferred to the Fund is 34.8 billion VND.
At the meeting, delegates gave their opinions on the draft Directive of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee on leadership and implementation of the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for the poor in Hoa Binh province; the draft Regulations on the operation of the Steering Committee and the assignment of tasks to members of the Steering Committee.
Concluding the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Phi Long, Secretary of the Hoa Binh Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee acknowledged the efforts of the political system in implementing the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for the poor in the province in recent times; especially appreciated the leading participation of the Fatherland Front at all levels, the police force, the Women's Union, the Farmers' Union, and the Youth Union.
The Secretary of the Hoa Binh Provincial Party Committee requested the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province to preside over the review of the list of each household, village, hamlet, ward, and commune, clearly stating the circumstances, conditions, and support levels to implement the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for the poor in the province. The list should be made public on the mass media.
At the same time, strengthen the mobilization, management and monitoring of the Fund for the Poor's funding sources to implement the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province.
