On March 19, the working group of the People's Committee of Dam Rong district (Lam Dong) had a working session with the People's Committee of Krong Pac district (Dak Lak) to visit and learn about the durian production model.
Currently, Krong Pac has 8,100 hectares of durian. The 2024 harvest is estimated at 92,016 tons, an increase of 11,816 tons compared to 2023, with an average yield of 227.9 quintals/ha.

Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Krong Pac district, Mr. Y Djoang Nie, said that the whole district currently has 1,158 hectares of durian certified with VietGAP. The locality also has 37 durian growing areas for export with a total area of 2,053 hectares. In recent years, Krong Pac has been known as the "sure capital" of the country.
At the meeting, the working group of the People's Committee of Dam Rong district was informed in detail by officials of the district's Department of Agriculture and Environment about the process of growing, caring for and harvesting durian.

The working group of Dam Rong district was led by representatives of the People's Committee of Krong Pac district to visit the durian production model in large-scale cooperatives, as well as the district's typical OCOP products associated with durian.
Chairman of Dam Rong District People's Committee Truong Huu Dong sent his thanks to Krong Pac District People's Committee for their enthusiastic support during the working trip.

According to Mr. Dong, Krong Pac district has had a long tradition of growing and producing durian. Therefore, Dam Rong district wishes to comprehensively learn about the process of planting, caring for, harvesting and deep processing this agricultural product.
" Agricultural cadres and leaders of the People's Committees of communes in Dam Rong district have seen and heard valuable experiences in durian production and must quickly absorb and impart advanced and effective techniques to the people. Thereby, helping people in Dam Rong district develop a sustainable economy", Mr. Dong emphasized.

Dam Rong is a locality with many ethnic minority households living there. The total durian growing area in Dam Rong district is nearly 3,000 hectares, the output in 2024 is estimated at over 10,000 tons.
