On April 6, the Women's Union of Ha Tinh province coordinated with the organizing committee of the Hung Vuong National Day Ceremony of Hong Linh town to organize the "Paking and cooking Chung cakes and sticky rice cakes to offer to Hung Vuong National Day" contest.
Participating in the contest are 10 teams from the Women's Union of districts, cities and towns in the province; Department of Education and Training; Cooking Cooperative Teams in Hong Linh town.
The teams wrapped and cooked 1,000 banh chung and 200 banh day to offer to the National Assembly.
According to the program, on the same evening, at Dai Hung Historical - Cultural Relic Site (Dau Lieu Ward, Hong Linh Town), an art evening gown program will take place with the theme "Proud of Hong Linh Lieu Linh".
Previously, on the afternoon of April 5, at the Dai Hung Historical - Cultural Relic Site, localities, agencies, units and people in the province offered offerings to the Duc Thuy of Kinh Duong Vuong and the Hung Kings.
Impressing with the offerings to worship the National Assembly of Hung Vuong is the pair of banh chung, each weighing 40kg from Dau Lieu ward, Hong Linh town.
This is one of the traditional rituals that has been maintained and preserved for many years, with the meaning of cultural exchange and community connection, enthusiastically responded to by the people of the localities, and passed down for generations.
Through the offering ceremony, it is a symbol of deep gratitude to the Venerable Thuy of Kinh Duong Vuong and the Hung Kings and ancestors to educate the principle of "When drinking water, remember its source"; strengthen the great national unity bloc of Vietnam.
The great death anniversary of Hung Vuong's ancestors in Hong Linh town will take place on the morning of April 7 (March 10 of the lunar calendar).
