On the same day, the Ministry of Industry and Trade organized an online conference on the situation of implementing the adjustment of Power Plan VIII and removing difficulties in the implementation of power source and grid projects. The conference was connected to 21 provinces and cities.
Speaking at the Phu Tho province bridge point, a representative of the leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade said: According to the adjusted Power Plan VIII, Phu Tho province is allocated a total expected capacity of 3, 421.2MW.
In which, hydropower projects with a total expected capacity of 578.2MW; waste power is 168MW; rooftop solar power with a total capacity of 2,221MW; concentrated solar power 300MW. In addition, there are also biomass power projects, electricity utilizing exhaust heat...
Regarding the power grid, the whole province has 21 500/220kV substation projects with a total capacity of about 13,200MVA (7 projects are underway); 16 500kV power lines more than 1,110km long (4 projects are underway) and 18 220kV power lines 453km long (3 projects are underway).
However, the implementation of power source and grid projects approved in the National Power Development Plan for the period 2021 - 2030, vision to 2050 adjusted has not been updated into the Provincial Plan, so it affects the implementation work.
The construction progress of some power projects is still slow compared to the plan due to problems with site clearance; limited investment capital while the need for renovation and upgrading of the power grid is large.
In addition, the economic efficiency of some types of renewable energy such as solar power and waste power is still low, not attracting investors.
Due to the characteristics of the Midlands and Mountainous province, low-voltage power grids in many rural areas, remote and isolated areas are still prolonged, and the quality of electricity is not guaranteed, affecting people's lives and access to public services and digital transformation.
Phu Tho Department of Industry and Trade proposed that the Ministry of Industry and Trade allocate capital to invest in the development of the power grid according to the plan, and at the same time allocate 245 billion VND according to the approved plan to renovate and upgrade the power system.
Concluding the conference, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long requested localities to focus on implementing projects according to the adjusted Power Plan VIII; prioritize projects with high feasibility.
At the same time, accelerate site clearance for key power grid projects, strengthen coordination with ministries and sectors to remove obstacles in mechanisms and policies, thereby promoting the progress of power projects.
