On December 7, information from the People's Committee of Quang Binh province said that the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025" in Quang Binh has had initial results.
The movement continues to receive attention from Party committees and authorities at all levels, with many diverse and creative approaches and many policies that are close to reality, helping to significantly improve the lives of rural people, and changing the appearance of the countryside, especially contributing to the successful implementation of the national target program on new rural construction in the province.
By October 31, 2024, the whole Quang Binh province still has about 2,108 poor and near-poor households living in temporary houses, dilapidated houses, and having housing difficulties that need support to improve housing safety, of which 1,099 households need support to build new houses, 1,009 households need support to renovate (not including poor and near-poor households under the national target program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021-2023).
Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee said that in the difficult economic conditions of Quang Binh province, the average income per capita is still low, so creating a relatively decent house is certainly a difficult problem for many households, especially for poor and near-poor households.
Currently, Quang Binh province is developing a project to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province, so launching a movement to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses is very necessary. This is to meet the needs and improve the quality of housing for poor and near-poor households, ensure safety against natural disasters, and at the same time improve living standards, contribute to ensuring social security, create conditions for human resource development and reduce the rate of poor households in housing according to the Prime Minister's directive "no one is left behind".
Strengthen inspection and control
Besides those achievements, there are still some difficulties being encountered such as the emulation movement has only been implemented for a short time, so some agencies, units and localities have not implemented it extensively and in depth, and have not mobilized the active participation of all classes of people.
The increasingly complex climate change, natural disasters, floods, epidemics on crops and livestock... cause property damage and severely affect people's lives, income, living, production... This is the cause that directly affects the maintenance and improvement of criteria on socio-economic infrastructure, income, poor households, near-poor households, environment...
In the coming time, the Provincial People's Committee will mobilize resources to develop the socio-economy and build new rural areas, reduce poverty sustainably; continue to promote the role of solidarity of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations; focus on investment and support for production development to increase income and living standards, ensuring social security for the people.
Strengthen inspection, examination, supervision and evaluation of program implementation at all levels and sectors. Timely reward organizations and individuals who perform well, at the same time take preventive measures, promptly stop negative manifestations, waste, and strictly handle violations in the program implementation process of authorities at all levels, especially the role of leaders.
Many people in the mountainous district of Minh Hoa (Quang Binh province) said they were very happy when the program was implemented. The implementation of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses helps people overcome many difficulties in life, especially during the rainy and stormy season.
