By September 2025, Thai Binh strives to eliminate 100% of temporary and leaky houses.
Thai Binh province currently has more than 11,900 poor households and over 12,580 near-poor households, of which more than 2,100 households have housing difficulties.
Of the more than 2,100 poor and near-poor households facing housing difficulties, more than 1,100 households need new construction and 942 households need repairs with a total cost of over 245 billion VND.
Implementing the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025" launched by the Prime Minister, Thai Binh province has been and will continue to promote and call for support, advocacy, and maximize social resources to strive to eliminate 100% of temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households in the area by September 2025.
Accordingly, Thai Binh province supports 100 million VND/household to build new houses, 50 million VND/household to repair houses from the national fund to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households, local budget and capital mobilized through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province.
On November 18, at the 8th Executive Committee meeting (term 2022-2027), Thai Binh Provincial Business Association also launched the above movement to businesses and member associations throughout the province.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Pham Van Nghiem - Vice Chairman of Thai Binh Provincial People's Committee praised the contributions of the business community in the process of economic development and ensuring social security in the locality.
With affection and responsibility towards the community, the Vice Chairman of Thai Binh Provincial People's Committee hopes that businesses and entrepreneurs will create the best possible conditions and support so that poor and near-poor households with housing difficulties can soon live in spacious, clean and beautiful houses.
Call for the cooperation of the social community, especially businesses and entrepreneurs
According to Mr. Do Van Ve, Chairman of Thai Binh Province Business Association, the spirit of "mutual love and support" has become a cultural beauty in the business community of Thai Binh province.
With the message "Millions of loving hearts - Thousands of happy homes", Mr. Do Van Ve called on the business community inside and outside the province to actively participate in the program "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025" launched by the Prime Minister with the spirit of "Whoever has something helps, whoever has merit helps merit, whoever has property helps property, whoever has little helps little, whoever has a lot helps a lot".
Enterprises and businessmen can register to support the program through the Provincial Fatherland Front or directly build houses for people. The Association regularly summarizes the number of registrations and reports to the Thai Binh Provincial People's Committee to ensure that support is provided promptly and to the right beneficiaries. Immediately after the launching ceremony, more than 20 enterprises registered to support the program with a total amount of 3.8 billion VND.
Speaking with Lao Dong reporter, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hoa - Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoa Binh commune (Kien Xuong district, Thai Binh province) - informed: "On the morning of November 21, the district's inspection team just came to the commune to survey and review the reality of households that previously submitted applications for financial support from the program to eliminate temporary and leaky houses. As a result, in the commune, there is currently 1 household eligible for support to build a new house, 2 households eligible for financial support to repair their houses. However, 1 of the 2 households receiving support to repair their houses is a policy beneficiary, contaminated with toxic chemicals, and their family's economic conditions are too difficult, so they have not dared to register for the program because they cannot arrange the corresponding funding source. In this case, we are also calling for social participation and support from benefactors and businesses to help them repair their houses because the houses are too damaged and degraded."
According to Mr. Hoa, on November 14, the Veterans Association of Kien Xuong district held the inauguration ceremony of the "Comradely Love" house for Mr. Nguyen Van A, residing in Nam Tien village. Mr. A was born in 1958, enlisted in March 1975, discharged in 1981, belonged to Division 331, Military Region 5, his family had extremely difficult housing circumstances.
