Launching a model of a boarding house for veterans with security, safety, and no drugs

Ho Chi Minh City - The model of a safe, secure and drug-free veteran's boarding house in Binh Thanh ward contributes to building a safe, civilized, and meaningful living environment.

On the morning of July 17, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Binh Thanh Ward, the Veterans Association of Binh Thanh Ward coordinated with the operating board of neighborhood 32 to launch the model of a safe, secure and drug-free veteran's boarding house at boarding house No. 194/43/1 Bach Dang.

At the program, Mr. Le Van Phuc - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Binh Thanh Ward, Chairman of the Veterans Association of Binh Thanh Ward said that in the process of urbanization and socio-economic development, boarding houses are not only accommodation but also a warm home for workers and children, including those who have participated in the army.

Therefore, building a safe, civilized, friendly living environment without violence, without social evils, especially drugs, is a very necessary requirement in the current situation.

The model of a safe, secure and drug-free veteran's boarding house is being implemented to promote the role and responsibility of landlords, tenants and the residential community in caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of each person in the area. At the same time, raising awareness of law compliance, building a civilized, united, and compassionate lifestyle in residential areas.

In particular, in the context of the crime and drug evils still containing many potential risks, especially in densely populated areas, propaganda to raise awareness, proactively prevent, detect and denounce violations of the law on drugs is an important task.

Mr. Dang Van Minh - owner of the boarding house, Head of the Self-Management Team of the security, safety and drug-free veteran boarding house area - said that the team clearly defines its responsibility in promoting the spirit of solidarity, raising self-management awareness; propagating and mobilizing tenants to comply with the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State; together maintain security and order, and environmental sanitation in the boarding house area.

In addition, the team will regularly monitor and grasp the situation, promptly reflect to functional agencies issues arising related to security and order. At the same time, remind tenants not to participate in acts related to drugs and social evils; uphold the spirit of solidarity and help each other in life.
