On the evening of September 4, the People's Committee of Rach Gia City (Kien Giang) organized a contest to learn about the law on ethnic affairs in 2024.
The contest aims to raise awareness and self-consciousness in complying with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies; strengthen the great national unity bloc, consolidate the trust of ethnic minorities in the Party and the State. Thereby, mobilizing them to build a healthy society, live and work according to the Constitution and the law, in order to stabilize politics, create social consensus to successfully implement the goal of sustainable socio-economic development, and maintain security and order.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Linh - Vice Chairman of Rach Gia City People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest, in addition to raising awareness and understanding of the field of ethnic affairs, the sense of responsibility of cadres, civil servants and public employees in ethnic minority areas, the contest also helps promote understanding of the law through dramatization, in accordance with the customs, practices and traditional culture of the region.
In the work of disseminating and educating the law, content on local political tasks, anti-corruption work, transparency, etc. is also integrated.
Contestants are officials, civil servants, and public employees working in the fields of dissemination and education of law, culture, society, information and propaganda, ethnic affairs, ethnic policies, ward and hamlet cadres, Communist Youth Union, Women's Union, Front Work Committee, prestigious people among ethnic minorities, good producers... Each team consists of 20 people.

The topic of law is topical and practically related to law enforcement in the field of ethnic affairs. Set an example for cadres, communities, and people in the work of disseminating, educating the law, and grassroots mediation.
Share local experiences in organizing, implementing good practices and effective models of legal dissemination and education suitable for ethnic minority areas in implementing the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas.
The teams competed in four parts including greetings, multiple choice, situation handling, and skits. The jury also commented that in the skits, the teams skillfully integrated legal regulations on ethnic affairs; highlighted exemplary cadres, communities, and people in the dissemination and education of law with the spirit of self-reliance to escape poverty; shared local experiences in organizing and implementing national target programs, good practices, effective models, suitable for ethnic minority areas for replication.
