Ms. Dang Thi Be Sau - Vice Chairman of Tra On District People's Committee - said that this is an activity that Tra On District People's Committee has coordinated with Thien Phuoc Pagoda to carry out for many years.
On average, 18-20 tons of fish fry are released into the water environment each year, contributing to the regeneration of aquatic resources on the river, protecting biodiversity, and protecting the environment.
According to Ms. Sau, from this activity, the locality will promote propaganda and raise people's awareness in strictly complying with the Law on Fisheries and current legal regulations, responsibility, actively participating in combating illegal fishing, joining hands to protect and exploit aquatic resources responsibly, saying no to the situation of catching endless fish using electric pulses, explosives, chemicals, crafts, fishing nets on the prohibited list...
Since the beginning of the year, the People's Committee of Tra On district has coordinated with Thien Phuoc pagoda to release 3 batches of fish fry on the Hau River, with more than 8 tons of fish fry of all kinds, with a total cost of over 370 million VND.
"According to the plan from now until the end of the year, we will continue to release 6-7 more fish fry, with a total number of fish fry of all kinds from 12-14 tons or more," added the Vice Chairman of Tra On District People's Committee.
