On the morning of April 19, Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee held the inauguration ceremony of the Provincial Multi-purpose Gymnasium.
The Vinh Long Province Multi-purpose Gymnasium is one of the national key projects and works and major projects that were started and inaugurated on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
The groundbreaking and inauguration ceremony was held in a simultaneous direct and online form across the country, connecting online from the main bridge in Ho Chi Minh City to all works and projects.
According to the Ministry of Construction, 80 projects were organized to start construction and inaugurated on this occasion, with a total investment of about more than 445,000 billion VND, of which the total started capital is 305,000 billion VND, the total capital of the projects is 140,000 billion VND.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Lu Quang Ngoi - Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee - said that the multi-purpose gymnasium is not only a spacious, modern sports infrastructure project, meeting the standards of organizing provincial, regional and national tournaments, but also a symbol of the strategic vision and determination of Vinh Long province in investing in comprehensive human development, especially the young generation - the future owners of the homeland.
The project will become a familiar address for physical training, discovery and fostering sports talents, and at the same time a rich space for cultural and sports activities, contributing to improving spiritual life, spreading a healthy lifestyle and creating a community of sustainable development.
The Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee hopes and believes that "from here, there will be more athletes stepping onto the podium of glory, many tournaments arousing the fiery sportsmanship, and above all, the image of a Vinh Long that is innovative, united, humane and sustainable development will be spread more and more strongly".
The Vinh Long Province Multi-purpose Gymnasium Project is a large-scale, highly technical and aesthetic project with a total investment of 272 billion VND from the capital of Vinh Long Radio and Television Station supported through the State Budget and the Provincial Budget.
