Tra Vinh opens the Central Highlands gong cultural exhibition

Tra Vinh - Opening of the exhibition "Cestern Highlands gong Culture - past and present", honoring UNESCO heritage through more than 100 unique artifacts.

On April 24, at the Khmer Ethnic Culture Museum of Tra Vinh province, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tra Vinh province coordinated with the Dak Lak Provincial Museum to solemnly organize the opening ceremony of the exhibition "Cestern Highlands Gong Culture - past and present".

Mr. Thach Boi - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tra Vinh province - said that this event has a profound meaning in preserving and honoring the unique cultural values of the Central Highlands gongs, an intangible heritage recognized by UNESCO.

At the same time, the exhibition also contributes significantly to raising awareness and responsibility of the community in preserving and promoting these precious cultural values.

According to Mr. Thach Boi, the exhibition introduces to the public more than 100 unique documents, images and artifacts, divided into two main topics: Ancient Central Highlands gong music and gong music in the current life of the Central Highlands people.

Visitors will have the opportunity to admire the precious gongs of the E De, M'ong, Gia rai, and Xo dang ethnic groups, listen to stories about the history and cultural context of gong music, as well as learn about the customs of using these unique musical instruments.

This exhibition is a meaningful and practical cultural activity, contributing to the efforts to preserve and promote national cultural values. This event also creates a space for cultural exchange, connecting regions and enhancing cooperation between museums across the country, Mr. Thach Boi added.

Within the framework of the opening ceremony, the wine invitation and bronze ring awarding ceremony was performed by the delegates. This is considered a good wish, sending wishes for health, peace and luck to all delegates and guests attending.

The exhibition is open to visitors every day from April 24 to May 25, at the Khmer Ethnic Culture Museum of Tra Vinh province (Hamlet 4, Ward 8, Tra Vinh city).
