On April 14, at Nguyen Chi Thanh High School (Le Thuy District, Quang Binh Province), the General Museum of Quang Binh Province held the opening of the thematic exhibition "General Vo Nguyen Giap - Life and Career".
Activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South, reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and towards the 114th anniversary of the birth of General Vo Nguyen Giap (August 25, 1911 - August 25, 2025), the elite son of Quang Binh's homeland, one of the legendary figures of modern history of Vietnam.
The exhibition consists of two main parts: part one overview of the general's life and career of revolution; The second part depicts the simple, close images between him and the people of Quang Binh, the homeland where he was born and raised.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the representative of the Provincial General Museum said that General Vo Nguyen Giap was not only the first commander of the Vietnam People's Army, but also one of the outstanding symbols of patriotism, intelligence and revolutionary morality.
From a student of Hue National School full of desire, the General soon joined the patriotic movement, embarked on the revolutionary path and became a talented commander in the resounding victories such as the Dien Bien Phu campaign in 1954 and Ho Chi Minh campaign in 1975.
The valuable images and documents at the exhibition contribute to honoring the moral example and the patriotic spirit of the General, inspiring the younger generation, especially students in the province.
This is also an opportunity for teachers and students to learn more deeply about a great personality, a dedicated person for a lifetime for the nation, thereby striving to study, train, continue his father's tradition, build his homeland and the country to develop strongly.
