From historical memories, fostering faith for the younger generation

Ho Chi Minh City - The program "Memories - Belief, Pride" and "Continuing Steps" helps the young generation deeply understand the value of peace, independence, and freedom to strive to study and contribute.

On April 22, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Cho Quan ward coordinated with relevant units to organize the program "Memories - Belief, Pride and Follow-up".

Speaking at the program, Mr. Le Tan Tai - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Cho Quan ward shared that in the sacred and deep atmosphere of the historic April days, the entire Party, people and army are heading towards the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South, national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026) - a glorious milestone in the history of the Vietnamese nation.

At the same time, 2026 also marks the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Saigon - Gia Dinh Commando (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2026), honoring the "numberless soldiers" force who fought with intelligence, bravery and courage right in the enemy's heart.

Mr. Le Tan Tai emphasized that years will pass, but for the whole country, for the indomitable citadel of the South, for the heroic city named after beloved Uncle Ho, the feats of arms of the Saigon - Cho Lon - Gia Dinh Special Forces in particular, along with the sacrifices of heroes and martyrs; especially the recognition of martyrs and the awarding of the "Fatherland Remembers Merit" Certificate to 49 Special Forces soldiers today is a deep gratitude, affirming that no sacrifice is forgotten.

The contributions of wounded soldiers, sick soldiers and Saigon Commando soldiers will live forever with generations, becoming an immortal monument in the nation's history. The people of Ho Chi Minh City in general and Cho Quan ward in particular are proud of the continuation of tradition, promoting the strength of great national unity.

At the program, former officers and soldiers of the Hoa Van armed block, Saigon - Gia Dinh Commando soldiers also spent time sharing to help today's generation better understand the arduous years of fighting, thereby, further cherishing the historical values and national traditions.

Youth union members and youth also expressed the awareness and responsibility of the young generation for the sacrifices of heroes, martyrs, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, former prisoners of war, former political prisoners of war who love their country in the cause of fighting for independence and freedom for the Fatherland, for the happiness of the people. This is also an opportunity for the young generation to be more deeply aware of the value of peace, independence, and freedom, thereby striving to study, train and contribute to the country, Ho Chi Minh City and the locality.

The Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Cho Quan ward respectfully expressed gratitude to officials and soldiers of the Ho Chi Minh City Chinese Resistance Traditional Club; people with meritorious services to the revolution, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, typical families of martyrs in the area and the Association of Revolutionary Soldiers captured and imprisoned by the enemy. Through this, expressing deep gratitude for the great contributions and sacrifices in the cause of national liberation, national reunification, for peace, independence, freedom of the Fatherland and people's happiness.
