Kien Giang Provincial Police have just organized and deployed a plan to ensure security and order for the traditional festival commemorating the 156th anniversary of the death of National Hero Nguyen Trung Truc (1868 - 2024) (referred to as the festival). The Director of Kien Giang Provincial Police has directed professional units to coordinate and advise on drafting documents on implementing plans to ensure security, order and traffic safety.
Colonel Nguyen Van Han, Director of the Provincial Police Department, emphasized that all forces must comply with instructions and assignments, uphold responsibility when performing official duties, flexibly handle situations that arise in reality, and properly implement the People's Police Regulations and the code of conduct for police officers and soldiers.
This year's Nguyen Trung Truc Festival takes place over 3 days from September 28 to September 30, 2024 and is expected to attract a large number of people from inside and outside the province and abroad.
The Provincial Police Director requested that in order to ensure absolute security and order for the festival, professional units of the security force deploy measures to grasp the situation, proactively prevent, stop, and combat plots and activities that cause political insecurity by hostile and reactionary elements.
Do not allow vandalism, large crowds to gather, causing insecurity and disorder that affects the festival. Proactively attack and strongly suppress all types of crimes and social evils, do not let criminals take advantage of large gatherings to commit robberies, snatching, theft of property; store, transport, buy, sell, use and entice others to use drugs...; do not let complicated and serious incidents occur that affect security and order in the area.
Units of the police force and Rach Gia City Police use synchronous professional measures to prevent, combat, and stop criminal activities; increase 24/24-hour patrols to promptly detect, prevent, and handle violations of the law.
Closely follow events to develop traffic diversion plans, organize checkpoints on key routes, avoid traffic jams, control traffic accidents... to best serve the travel, entertainment and recreation needs of tourists and people.
The festival aims to actively preserve and promote traditional cultural values associated with socio-economic development; ensure humanity and promote the role of the people in the activities of the festival. Contribute to educating the tradition of patriotism against foreign invaders among all classes of people, especially the young generation. Especially promote national sovereignty, protect the borders and islands of Vietnam in the current situation.
The 2023 festival welcomed about 1.2 - 1.5 million visitors. All people attending the festival were given free food and drinks.
