According to the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Tuyen Quang province, in 2024, policy credit capital reached more than 21,254 poor households and policy beneficiaries, with a total disbursed capital of more than VND 1,092 billion.
In 2024, the province's total outstanding policy credit balance reached over VND4,399 billion, an increase of 4.53% over the previous year, with 78,712 poor households and policy beneficiaries still in debt. Preferential credit programs have brought opportunities to escape poverty to 21,254 poor, near-poor households and policy beneficiaries.
Specifically, in Son Duong district, there are 17,147 poor households and policy beneficiaries receiving loans, accounting for the highest rate in the province.
Ham Yen district's outstanding policy credit balance reached over 500 billion VND, with more than 10,000 households receiving loans for economic development.
Having had difficulties with small-scale trading, in 2021, Ms. Nong Thi Hang's family (Phuc Hung village, Luong Thien commune, Son Duong district) was able to borrow 100 million VND from the policy credit program to invest in barns for breeding buffaloes and planting acacia.

Up to now, the buffalo herd has given birth to more calves, the acacia hills have developed well, bringing a stable source of income for the family.
Ms. Hang shared: “Thanks to the support capital, my family not only has more income but also stabilizes our life. I am very grateful for this program.”
Similarly, Mr. Pham Van Quang (Son Thuy village, Yen Thuan commune, Ham Yen district), from a poor household, borrowed 100 million VND to plant 2,000 four-season lemon trees. The lemon garden currently brings in a stable income of 400 million VND per year.
He shared: “Four-season lemons are easy to care for and have stable output. The preferential loan has given me the opportunity to develop my economy and create jobs for my family.”
As for Mr. Nguyen Quoc Doanh (Muong village, Phu Luu commune, Ham Yen district), thanks to two loans from the job support program, Mr. Doanh developed a model of planting 1,000 Thai jackfruit trees and established Minh Phat Cooperative.
In 2023, his cooperative harvested 40 tons of jackfruit, produced 5 tons of dried jackfruit, bringing in revenue of 250 million VND and profit of 170 million VND.
Policy credit has made an important contribution to improving new rural criteria. By the end of 2024, the poverty rate in the province decreased from 14.03% to 10.24%, exceeding the set plan.
Of which, the poverty rate in ethnic minority areas decreased sharply from 22.03% to 14.76%.
Poor districts such as Na Hang and Lam Binh have completed 92.66% of the housing construction plan for poor households, with a total of 627 houses (267 new houses, 314 repaired houses).
Informing reporters, the leader of the Social Policy Bank Branch in Tuyen Quang province said that to improve the efficiency of capital use, Tuyen Quang province will focus on solutions such as promoting communication and raising people's awareness of the effectiveness of policy credit.
Strengthen supervision and inspection of capital use to ensure proper purposes. At the same time, integrate credit programs with local socio-economic development, with special attention to models of production and product consumption linkage.
