Hanoi - In 2026, Da Phuc commune sets a target to plant more than 5,100 trees, linking Tet tree planting with environmental protection and sustainable development.

On the morning of February 22, Da Phuc Commune People's Committee organized a launching ceremony for "Tet tree planting forever remembering Uncle Ho" Binh Ngo spring 2026, attracting the participation of a large number of officials and local people.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Do Thu Nga - Chairwoman of Da Phuc Commune People's Committee emphasized that for more than 60 years, the "Tet tree planting" movement initiated by President Ho Chi Minh has become a beautiful traditional cultural feature every early spring, contributing to raising awareness of environmental protection and building a green - clean - beautiful landscape.

Implementing Directive No. 20/CT-UBND of the Chairman of Hanoi City People's Committee and Plan No. 380/KH-UBND of Hanoi City People's Committee, Da Phuc commune is developing a plan to organize the Binh Ngo Spring Tree Planting Festival 2026 in a practical and effective direction, avoiding formality; linking tree planting activities with socio-economic development and sustainable environmental protection.

According to the plan, in 2026, the whole commune strives to plant more than 5,100 new green trees of all kinds, including about 2,000 shade trees, timber trees and more than 3,000 fruit trees. Green trees will be planted on traffic routes, land use right auction areas, resettlement areas, cultural houses, historical and cultural relics, schools, health stations, agency headquarters and premises of households.

Specifically on the launch day, the commune organized the planting of trees such as wrote, sang, Taiwanese banyan, black star... ensuring the correct variety, quality, no pests and diseases, suitable for the local climate and soil conditions.

This year's Tet tree planting movement was deployed simultaneously to 33 villages and schools in the area. Each village registered to plant 140 trees; Tang Long village alone planted 420 trees. For kindergartens, primary schools and secondary schools, each school planted 10 trees.

Villages proactively review public land funds, interspersed land, traffic corridors and campuses of public works to organize scattered tree planting, creating a green - clean - beautiful landscape. Along with that, the commune promotes the socialization of seedling sources, encouraging each household to plant 1-2 green trees per year.

Planting urban green trees and scattered trees not only contributes to improving the ecological environment, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, towards sustainable development goals, but also creates a foundation for building green rural landscapes, serving the orientation of developing ecological agriculture associated with experiential tourism.

After planting, villages, schools and related units are assigned specific responsibilities in caring for and protecting trees according to technical procedures, ensuring a high survival rate. Village heads and heads of agencies and units are responsible for reporting the progress and results of tree planting to the Commune People's Committee for synthesis and evaluation.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, delegates and people participated in planting the first green trees in a joyful atmosphere, expressing their determination to join hands to build an increasingly green, civilized, and modern homeland, contributing to Hanoi Capital's implementation of the goal of green and sustainable development.
