The Dong Van Mong Khen Festival 2026 promises to bring unique activities, contributing to honoring the culture of the highlands and attracting visitors during the April 30 - May 1 holiday.

On April 24-25, 2026, at Dong Van Old Quarter (Dong Van commune, Tuyen Quang province), the Mong Khèn Festival and Street Parade for the 3rd time will officially take place.

This is a key cultural activity to preserve and promote traditional artistic values, and at the same time promote the image of the highlands to the general public.

Towards the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South, national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026) and International Labor Day (May 1), the local People's Committee coordinates with relevant units to organize festivals with many unique contents.

Not only contributing to creating a vibrant atmosphere during the holidays, the event also plays a connecting role, bringing Mong ethnic culture closer to domestic and foreign tourists.

The highlight of this festival will be the opening art program with the theme "Melody on the Stone Land". Here, typical khen artisans will gather and perform unique performances, vividly recreating the spiritual life of the Mong people on the Stone Plateau.

The sound of the khen is likened to the "soul" of the village, and continues to be honored as a unique cultural heritage that needs to be preserved and developed.

At the same time, the street parade program also promises to attract a large public interest with the participation of 27 art troupes. The troupes will bring colorful performances, introducing customs, traditional costumes and the beauty in the labor and daily life of Dong Van people.

Within the framework of the festival, visitors also have the opportunity to participate in many attractive activities such as: Mong Khèn Competition, national costume performance, cultural - culinary space experience and mass art exchange programs.

This is an opportunity for ethnic communities to strengthen exchanges, connect and spread unique cultural values.

Maintaining the Mong Khen Festival and Street Parade is not only meaningful in terms of entertainment but also contributes to the sustainable tourism development goals of Tuyen Quang province.

Taking culture as the foundation, festivals also want to help raise awareness of preserving national identity, while creating unique and diverse tourism products to promote local economic development.

With careful preparation, the Dong Van Mong Khen Festival 2026 is expected to leave many imprints for tourists as well as continue to affirm its position as a cultural destination in the highlands rich in identity.
