On the evening of January 3rd, the Mong Khen Festival and the To Day Flower Festival officially opened at the Central Stadium of Mu Cang Chai commune, Lao Cai province.
According to Lao Dong's records, before the opening ceremony, the central area of Mu Cang Chai commune was bustling, with a large number of local people in traditional costumes and tourists present to watch street parades, take souvenir photos and visit booths displaying local products.

Featured highland products are displayed along both sides of the main road, creating a colorful festival space.
Street performances with the participation of mass art teams, Mong khen artisans and local youth have attracted the attention of tourists.
The official opening night began with a special art program, gathering more than 200 cultural and artistic core members of the commune.

The performances are elaborately staged, vividly recreating the daily life, labor production and traditional cultural space of the Mong people, from family activities, spring festivals to dances and khen sounds associated with community life.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Ngoc Hiep - Chairman of Mu Cang Chai Commune People's Committee - emphasized that this is an important cultural and tourism event. At the same time, it is an opportunity to promote and introduce the potential, strengths, natural beauty and unique cultural identity of Mu Cang Chai land to friends and tourists inside and outside the province.

Mu Cang Chai is famous for its majestic terraced fields, changing natural scenery in all four seasons and the unique cultural treasure of ethnic minorities. All contribute to making Mu Cang Chai an attractive destination for tourists.
In particular, in 2023, Mong khen art was recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage in the form of folk performing arts, affirming the historical and artistic value of khen in the life of the Mong community in Mu Cang Chai.

In the early days of spring, the color of To Day flowers - a typical flower of highland mountains and forests - blooms brightly on the mountainsides, bringing deep cultural values and spiritual life of the Mong people.
To Day flowers are not only a symbol of spring in the highlands but also a source of inspiration for Mu Cang Chai to build tourism products imbued with identity, associated with natural and indigenous cultural experiences.
The Mong Khen Festival - To Day Flower Festival this year continues to be organized on an increasingly expanded scale, with rich content, inheriting the results and organizational experience of the past.
At the same time, it is implemented in the direction of linking and closely coordinating between communes in the Mu Cang Chai area, in order to honor the values of national cultural heritage, creating a unified cultural and tourism space of the whole region.
