Exhibition of cheering paintings to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the first general election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam

An Giang - The exhibition not only helps the younger generation better understand the National Assembly but also arouses national pride and a sense of responsibility in building the country.

On the afternoon of November 14, at the Nguyen Trung Truc National Hero Monument Park, Rach Gia Ward, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the People's Committee of An Giang Province held the opening ceremony of a large exhibition of cheering paintings to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the first general election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2026).

This is the first exhibition in the country to honor the glorious 8-year journey of the Vietnamese National Assembly, always accompanying the nation in the cause of fighting for independence, freedom, national reunification and development in the period of innovation, international integration, entering a new era.

The exhibition takes place from November 14 to 29, 2025, displaying 150 large-plate artworks, selected from professional and amateur artists across the country.

Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy, Deputy Director of the Department of Grassroots Culture, Family and Library, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism emphasized that the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam is an opportunity for the entire Party, people and army to review the history of formation and development, affirming the great achievements that our National Assembly has achieved over the past 80 years.

Through language, images and colors, the works of art and performance paintings convey the content of propaganda about the significance of the first general election; express the aspiration for independence and freedom of the Vietnamese people; affirm the absolute confidence of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh in the patriotism of our people.

Mr. Nguyen Van Mao, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of An Giang province, said: This exhibition is a practical activity with profound political and social significance, aiming to widely promote the historical, cultural and revolutionary traditions of the nation, educate patriotism, national pride and a sense of responsibility of each citizen towards the Fatherland. This is also an opportunity for people and tourists inside and outside the province to enjoy and admire works of high ideological and artistic value; at the same time, it is an opportunity to promote the image of the people, culture and tourism potential of An Giang province to friends in the region and the whole country.

Each painting is not only a work of art but also a strong message of patriotism, democratic spirit and aspiration to build a prosperous country.
