Vika and Elco (from the Netherlands) and their 2 children recently had a trip to Hanoi. In addition to visiting some destinations, the small family also spent time experiencing delicious street food.

The first dining spot that Elco's family came to was the famous Nguyet Chicken Pho restaurant located on Phu Doan street (Hoan Kiem, Hanoi). Elco was excited because this is a pho restaurant that has been introduced by the Michelin guide in the Bib Gourmand category for 4 consecutive years (delicious dishes at affordable prices).
Before the trip, Elco's family had tasted pho at restaurants in Amsterdam many times to get acquainted with the flavor and prepare for the journey.
Even, Vika said: "Our eldest son has cooked pho at home, just because he loves Vietnamese cuisine.

The broth is rich, the sweetness is deep because it is simmered from meat and bones for many hours, completely different from the processing method in my hometown, which is usually to cook soup from tomatoes or use recipes without noodles like pho," Elco said.

And Vika was particularly impressed with the accompanying vegetables and pho noodles. She said that pho noodles are thin, soft, and blended in the sweet broth, creating a harmonious flavor that surprised her.

Elco added a few slices of chili to make the pho more appealing. He shared: "Vietnamese people often use fresh chili in meals, and it is much spicier than my familiar taste. However, that spiciness makes the pho bowl much tastier". Vika also said that this is the best foreign dish they have ever eaten.

The restaurant is open from 6:30 AM to 12:00 PM daily, including mixed pho and broth pho, priced from 55,000 - 120,000 VND/bowl. With a rich menu, Nguyet chicken pho serves all kinds of fresh chicken meat, from pho ribs, mixed pho drumsticks, pho wings, pho thighs, pho back, pho wings... The restaurant also serves whole-cut chickens separately at a price of 700,000 VND/chicken.
During peak hours, the indoor area is crowded, many people even stand in long queues outside waiting to enjoy the famous pho.
