One spring afternoon, Meritorious Artist Do Ky took his wife - People's Artist Lan Huong to enjoy a traditional dish. This is an easy-to-find snack in Hanoi's Old Quarter.

The artist couple stopped at a famous fried cake shop that has been around for over 20 years on Hang Chieu Street. Standing in front of the stall, People's Artist Lan Huong "Bong" quickly chose 10 fried balls, 5 fried balls and 5 fried sugar cakes.

The price of fried balls is 2,000 VND/piece, while fried balls and fried sugar cakes cost 3,000 VND/piece. The restaurant usually sells a dozen cakes of each type.

Sitting in the shop enjoying afternoon gifts, she did not hesitate to reveal that her relatives also sold fried cakes. Therefore, when she was young, she often had to make cakes to help carry goods.

Immediately, she also showed her talent, making fried balls with the restaurant staff. As a regular customer of the store, the female artist revealed that she really likes fried balls.

For the occasion, she also recalled her memories: "The mini fries are delicious. When shaping a small, round, hand-shaped fried cake like this, the process is not simple. When I was young, when making fried cakes, I was also given a few chopsticks (laughs)".

Meritorious Artist Do Ky commented that when holding a cake and hearing the sound of shaking, the green bean filling does not stick to the cake crust. A delicious fried cake is when it cools, the skin is not tough, the flour is still soft, but when eaten hot, " let's just chew it, it's delicious".

The artist couple praised the typical fried balls of the store in the old town. Screenshot

The favorite fried cake restaurant of the artist couple makes people miss it with its crispy fried skin and sweet, fatty green bean filling. Many years ago, fried balls were famous for their delicious taste and only cost 1,000 VND/piece.
