Newly launched, Trang bread quickly attracted attention because it "usurped" the most expensive position in Saigon from Huynh Hoa bread. The shop claims to make bread according to its own recipe. A loaf of bread will have a larger weight than other types of bread on the market, along with a lighter bread crumb to hold more filling.
The fillings are diverse, such as spring rolls, sausage, ham, grilled meat, pate, pickles... almost all are homemade, so they have a very unique flavor.
In particular, the restaurant owner revealed that he uses herbal smoking technique to process char siu pork, so this part of the meat is rich in flavor and soft.
The shop only has two main types of bread: traditional bread and seafood bread. Traditional bread will have two layers of pate, butter, various types of ham, sausage and pickles. Seafood bread also has similar toppings but will have additional types of seafood sausage. This is also the most popular and most expensive type of bread at the shop, about 79,000 VND/piece.
According to Nguyen Hi Mat To - a food blogger from Dak Lak, Trang bread has a similar flavor to Huynh Hoa bread: "Pate and butter are big pluses, the patties are the same on both sides. Seafood bread has a distinct fish patty flavor, followed by squid patties... overall the flavor is quite delicious".
He rated the seafood sandwich as having a unique flavor, different from traditional sandwiches. The types of sausages are all of good quality and worth the money.
Although the price is higher than the average, the restaurant still attracts many diners to enjoy. Partly because many people are curious about the unique flavor. With a large portion, diners can completely buy a loaf and ask to cut it in half for two people to eat.
