For nearly 40 years, pate Hanh Mui Banh Mi restaurant (on Phu Nghia street, Nam Dinh city) has been a familiar address for locals and tourists when exploring Nam Dinh cuisine.
"Previously, the restaurant was at the Han Thuyen - Phu Nghia intersection, then moved to the current address. The restaurant was opened by my parents-in-law, only selling banh mi with pate filling. Up to now, the restaurant has been open for nearly 40 years," said Ms. Hoang Thi Yen (43 years old), the current owner of the restaurant.
Ms. Yen and her husband and relatives took over the banh mi restaurant of her parents. The ingredients to make pate fillings of the cake from the first days of sale until now still keep the recipe unchanged.
Nowadays, to help customers enjoy the noodle soup less bored, the restaurant has prepared sliced cucumbers and herbs to eat with.

According to the restaurant owner, in addition to the crispiness of the grilled banh mi on the charcoal stove for 15 - 20 minutes, it helps the inside of the cake to remain soft and thick. A perfect combination to make a delicious Banh Mi is also the fragrant pate. Pate is made entirely according to a family recipe, steamed for 5 hours, from ingredients such as: pork, liver, pork fat mixed with dried meat, buttocks...
In front of this nearly 40-year-old banh mi shop, it is not uncommon for people to line up to buy cakes. Waiting to get banh mi, Ms. Van Anh (Nam Dinh City) shared: "Pate is the main and characteristic part of the restaurant, when eating pate, it melts in the mouth, the aroma, richness of the food together with the cucumber is very delicious".

The price of pate noodle soup here has been sold for 10 years at a price of 10,000 VND/piece. The restaurant opens for sale at 2 time slots per day, from 6am - 11am and 3:30pm - 10:30pm. On average, the restaurant sells about 500 pate noodle soup outlets a day, more on weekends and holidays.
