New low pressure near the East Sea causes widespread thunderstorms

Dương Đông |

The low pressure area near the East Sea named Invest 95W is currently located in the western Pacific region.

According to the latest low pressure news from the US Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC), this low pressure has the potential to develop into a tropical depression in the next 24 hours.

Currently, low pressure 95W has maximum sustained winds of about 35-45 km/h.

Satellite images show that the low-level circulation is gradually forming, with strong thunderstorm cloud areas developing in the northwest and east of the system. The low pressure is currently causing widespread rain in the area of Palau Island, Guam, Northern Mariana...

Experts believe that environmental conditions are quite favorable for low pressure to develop, with wind cuts at low to medium levels, warm sea surface temperatures of about 28-29°C, along with good air flow at higher levels.

Many global weather forecast models currently have a relatively high consensus that low pressure 95W will continue to develop as it moves north to northeast in the next few days.

Currently, international meteorological agencies continue to monitor to update low pressure forecasts and sea weather forecasts in the coming time, especially for areas with maritime activities and marine tourism.

Meanwhile, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on July 7, 3 sea areas north of the Northern East Sea area will have strong Northeast winds at level 5, sometimes level 6.

Sea weather forecast for day and night 8: 3:

The Northern East Sea area (including the Hoang Sa special zone) has strong Northeast winds of level 6, especially the eastern sea area at times level 7, gusts of level 8-9, strong rough seas; waves 3-5 m high.

The sea area from Khanh Hoa to Ca Mau and the west of the South East Sea area (including the western Truong Sa special zone) has level 5 Northeast wind, sometimes level 6, gusts level 7-8, rough seas; waves are 2-4 m high.

All ships operating in the above areas are at high risk of being affected by strong winds and large waves.

Tourists need to proactively check the sea weather forecast and low pressure warnings before participating in sea and island tours. Limit going to distant sea areas if there are warnings of strong winds, big waves or strong low pressure.
