According to storm news, the latest low pressure from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the low pressure near the East Sea has strengthened into a tropical depression.
As of 2 am this morning (local time), the center of the tropical depression is located at 24.4 degrees North latitude - 137.7 degrees East longitude, about 1,680 km east-northeast of Luzon's northernmost point.
The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression reached 55 km/h, gusting up to 70 km/h. The tropical depression is moving north at a speed of 35 km/h.
Because it is still quite far from the mainland, this tropical depression has not caused much impact on the mainland areas around the area.
Not far from there, Typhoon Krovanh is about 222 km north-northwest of Kadena Air Base. In the past 6 hours, the typhoon has moved in a South-Southwest direction at a speed of 11 km/h.
The strongest wind near the storm center reaches 85 km/h. The maximum wave height is about 6.1 m.
It is forecasted that Typhoon Krovanh will continue to move mainly South when approaching Okinawa (Japan), then change direction in a counterclockwise direction towards Minami-Daitojima in the next 60 hours.
After this time, the above-mentioned subtropical high pressure may cause the storm to change direction to the North and accelerate. However, the storm's path is still uncertain, especially in the period after 60 hours.
In terms of intensity, Typhoon Krovanh is forecast to gradually weaken throughout the forecast period due to leaving the area with a strong air pressure difference in the North, gradually losing the ability to escape gas.

The Central East Sea area has scattered showers and thunderstorms.
