Storm No. 5 officially makes landfall

Storm No. 5 has officially left the East Sea, making landfall in Fujian province (China).

According to storm and low pressure news from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on the morning of September 3rd, storm No. 5 officially left the East Sea to enter mainland China.

As of 7 am on September 3, the storm's center was located at about 23.9 degrees North latitude - 117.5 degrees East longitude, in the coastal sea area southeast of Fujian province (China).

The strongest wind near the storm center is strong at level 8 (62-74km/h), gusting at level 10. The storm moves in a West-Northwest direction, speed about 10 km/h.

Forecast to 7:00 AM on September 4th, the storm will move in a West-Southwest direction at a speed of about 10-15 km/h, position at 23.1 degrees North latitude - 114.7 degrees East longitude, over the mainland in the Southeast of Guangdong province (China).

The storm weakens into a tropical depression, wind force level 6, gusts level 9. Disaster risk level: level 3 is warned in the northeastern sea area of the Northern East Sea.

By 7:00 PM on September 4th, the tropical depression continued to move in a West-Southwest direction at a speed of about 10 km/h. The center of the tropical depression is located at about 22.6 degrees North latitude - 113.2 degrees East longitude, over the southern area of Guangdong province (China), then weakened into a low pressure area.

Due to the impact of storm No. 5, the northeastern sea area of the Northern East Sea has strong winds of level 6-7, gusts of level 8-9, sea waves 2.0-4.0 m high. The area near the storm center passing through has strong winds of level 8, gusts of level 10, sea waves 3.0-5.0 m high, strong rough seas.

Ships operating in dangerous areas are likely to be affected by thunderstorms, tornadoes, strong winds and large waves.
