The low pressure area off the Palawan has left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) but is still affecting the mainland, according to information from the Philippine weather agency on the morning of March 31.
Meteorological expert Rhea Torres from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that this weather disturbance is currently located about 120 km northeast of Pagasa Island, in the Kalayaan Islands ( Palawan Province), outside the PAR region.
PAGASA said that currently, only Palawan is affected by the low pressure area, with cloudy weather accompanied by scattered showers and thunderstorms.
Although the National Meteorological Agency has announced the end of the northeast monsoon season, the northeast monsoon is still affecting Batanes province in the northernmost part of Luzon.
Meanwhile, the easterly winds blowing across the Pacific Ocean from the east, bringing hot and humid weather will affect most parts of the Philippines over the next 24 hours.
The weather agency also forecasts that the easterly winds will cause scattered or localized showers in Metro Manila and other areas across the country.
