According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, through satellite image monitoring at 4:00 PM, lightning positioning data and Hanoi weather radar images show that some convective clouds are forming and developing in the wards and communes including Phuc Thinh, Dong Anh, Phu Dong, Vinh Thanh and Viet Hung.
These clouds tend to move slowly northward and continue to expand to neighboring areas.
In the next 10 minutes to 3 hours, many wards in the inner city of Hanoi such as Viet Hung, Bo De, Hong Ha, Phu Thuong, Tay Ho... are likely to experience rain, showers and thunderstorms. The meteorological agency believes that the thunderstorm area may also spread to many other wards in the city center.

Notably, during thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind, potentially affecting traffic and people's lives during rush hour.
The meteorological agency forecasts that from the evening of May 28 to May 29, the Northern and North Central regions will have scattered showers and thunderstorms with rainfall of 15-30mm, locally heavy rain over 80mm (rain concentrated in the late afternoon and night).
The area from Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong and the South has showers and scattered thunderstorms with rainfall of 15-30mm, locally heavy rain over 70mm.
Other places in the Central Highlands region have scattered showers and thunderstorms with rainfall of 10-20mm, locally heavy rain over 50mm (rain concentrated in the afternoon and evening). In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
Rainstorms accompanied by tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind can affect agricultural production, causing trees to fall, damage to houses, traffic works, and infrastructure. Localized heavy rains are likely to cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on slopes, and flooding in low-lying areas.
People and tourists going out should bring umbrellas and raincoats to prevent sudden weather changes.
