The meteorological agency warns that high temperatures combined with low humidity increase the risk of fire and explosion in residential areas due to a sharp increase in electricity demand. As for the mountainous and midland areas of the North, in the late afternoon and night of May 11, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, common rainfall from 10-30mm, locally over 70mm. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
Rainstorms can affect agricultural production, break down trees, damage houses and infrastructure works. At the same time, the risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides in steep slopes and flooding in low-lying areas also needs to be prevented.
