The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting updates the weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow (May 11) in regions across the country.
The Southern region continues to experience widespread hot weather, with intense hot weather in some places with the highest temperature commonly from 35-37 degrees C, some places above 37 degrees C. The lowest humidity during the day is commonly from 50-55%.
It is forecast that the hot weather in the South is likely to continue in the coming days. Due to the impact of hot weather combined with reduced air humidity, the risk of fires and explosions in residential areas increases due to high electricity demand. Prolonged hot weather can also cause water loss, affecting health when people are exposed to the outdoors for a long time.
Meanwhile, from the evening of May 10 to May 11, the Northwest region and the northern mountainous region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, common rainfall from 10-30mm, locally very heavy rain over 80mm.
In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. The meteorological agency warns that localized heavy rain may cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides in hilly areas and flooding in low-lying areas. Extreme weather phenomena also risk breaking trees, damaging houses and affecting traffic and infrastructure.
At sea, on the night of May 10 and day of May 11, the sea area from Ho Chi Minh City to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to An Giang and the Gulf of Thailand area will have scattered showers and thunderstorms. In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind, causing danger to the operation of ships at sea.
