The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has updated the weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow (June 11) in regions across the country.
In the next 6 hours, the risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams; landslides and subsidence in areas with steep terrain is still high in some localities.
Specifically, in Dien Bien province, areas at risk include Muong Tung, Muong Cha, Muong Lay ward, Si Pa Phin and Sin Thau. In Hue city, points to note include Hung Loc, Huong Thuy ward, Phu Bai ward and Thanh Thuy ward.
In the late afternoon and night of June 10, the Northwest region and from Thanh Hoa to Hue City will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, common rainfall from 10-30mm, locally over 60mm.
Meanwhile, the area from Da Nang to Lam Dong and the South continues to have scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening of the same day, common rainfall from 10-30mm, some places may record rainfall over 80mm.
The meteorological agency warns that during thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rain in a short time may cause flooding in low-lying areas, urban areas, and increase the risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams and landslides in hilly areas.
Extreme weather phenomena such as tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind can also cause damage to agricultural production, break down trees, damage houses and affect traffic infrastructure and people's livelihoods.
