The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting updates the weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow (June 22) in regions across the country.
On June 21, hot weather continued to appear widely in the midland and delta areas of the Northern region, Da Nang City and the east of provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak. The recorded temperature at 1 pm was commonly from 35-37 degrees Celsius, some places exceeded 37 degrees Celsius.
In particular, the area from Thanh Hoa to Quang Tri experienced intense heat with common temperatures of 36-38 degrees C. Many localities recorded very high temperatures such as Tinh Gia (Thanh Hoa) 38.9 degrees C, Vinh (Nghe An) 38.8 degrees C, Huong Khe (Ha Tinh) 38.7 degrees C and Dong Ha (Quang Tri) 38.6 degrees C.
According to forecasts, in the two days of June 22-23, the mountainous and midland areas of the Northern region (excluding Lai Chau and Dien Bien) will continue to experience hot weather, with intense hot weather in some places with the highest common temperature of 35-37 degrees Celsius, and some places above 37 degrees Celsius.
In the Northern Delta, from Hue City to Da Nang City and the eastern provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak, hot and intense heat will continue with the highest temperature commonly 36-38 degrees Celsius, with some places exceeding 39 degrees Celsius.
Notably, the area from Thanh Hoa to Quang Tri is likely to experience intense and especially intense heat. The highest temperature is commonly from 38-40 degrees Celsius, some places may exceed 40 degrees Celsius.
The meteorological agency predicts that the hot spell in the North is likely to last until around June 25. Meanwhile, the area from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang City and the eastern provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak may continue to experience many consecutive hot days.
Prolonged hot weather combined with low air humidity increases the risk of fires and explosions in residential areas due to increased electricity demand. At the same time, the risk of forest fires is also at an alarming level in many localities.
Experts recommend that people and tourists should limit working and outdoor activities during peak heat from 11 am to 4 pm, supplement enough water for the body and take health protection measures to avoid dehydration, exhaustion or heat shock.
