The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting updates the weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow (May 2) in regions across the country.
The weather across the country has many fluctuations, with increased heat in the Central and Southern regions, while thunderstorms appear in the northern mountainous areas.
Specifically, on May 2nd, hot sun appeared in the western mountainous area from Nghe An to Hue City and the Southeast region, with the highest temperature commonly from 35-36 degrees, in some places above 36 degrees. The relative lowest humidity fluctuated from 50-55%, causing a clear feeling of dryness and heat.
On May 3rd, hot weather will continue to expand in the area from Nghe An to Da Nang City and the east of provinces from Quang Ngai to Gia Lai, with the highest temperature commonly from 35-36 degrees.
It is noteworthy that in the western mountainous region from Nghe An to Hue City, hot weather tends to be more intense, the common temperature is from 36-38 degrees, in some places above 38 degrees, humidity decreases to about 45-50%. Meanwhile, the Southeast region still maintains localized hot weather, with temperatures in some places exceeding 35 degrees.
From the night of May 1 to the morning of May 2, the northern mountainous provinces such as Lai Chau, Dien Bien and Lao Cai will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, common rainfall from 10 to 20mm, with heavy rain in some places over 50mm.
In thunderstorms, it is necessary to be wary of dangerous weather phenomena such as tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. At the same time, the risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides in steep slopes and flooding in low-lying areas is very noteworthy.
Rainstorms can affect agricultural production, causing trees to fall, damage to houses, traffic works and infrastructure. Faced with complicated weather conditions, people and tourists need to proactively monitor weather forecasts and take timely preventive measures to minimize damage caused by natural disasters.
