The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has updated the weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow (May 29) in regions across the country.
From the evening of May 28 to May 29, the Northern and North Central regions will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, common rainfall from 15-30mm, locally over 80mm, mainly concentrated in the late afternoon and night.
Hanoi area on May 29th will be cloudy, hot and intense sunny days; showers and scattered thunderstorms in the evening and at night, with locally heavy rain.
Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong and Southern regions will experience scattered showers and thunderstorms with rainfall of 15-30mm, with heavy rain in some places over 70mm. Meanwhile, the remaining localities in the Central Highlands region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, rainfall from 10-20mm, locally over 50mm, rain concentrated in the afternoon and evening.
In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Extreme weather phenomena can affect agricultural production, causing trees to fall, damage to houses, traffic works and infrastructure. In addition, localized heavy rain also poses a risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides in hilly areas and flooding in low-lying areas.
