The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has updated the weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow (June 7) in regions across the country.
On June 7, the Northern region will still be hot, with intense heat in some places with the highest temperature commonly from 35-37 degrees C, some places above 37 degrees C. The relative lowest humidity is commonly from 50-55%.
On June 8, the heat in the North will gradually narrow, mainly appearing in the delta area with the highest temperature commonly 35-36 degrees C, in some places above 36 degrees C. The lowest humidity is from 55-60%.
From around late afternoon and night of June 8 to night of June 9, the Northern region, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An are likely to experience a wave of moderate to heavy rain and widespread thunderstorms. Common rainfall is from 30-80mm, locally over 200mm.
Notably, the meteorological agency warns of the risk of very heavy rain, over 100mm within 3 hours, increasing the risk of flooding in low-lying areas, urban areas and industrial parks. At the same time, flash floods on small rivers and streams and landslides in hilly areas may also occur.
Central region continues to be severely hot, with some places above 39 degrees Celsius
On June 7-8, the area from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang City and the eastern provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak continue to experience hot and intense heat. The highest temperature is commonly from 35-38 degrees C, many places above 39 degrees C. The relative lowest humidity ranges from 45-50%.
Due to the impact of prolonged heat combined with reduced air humidity, the risk of fires and explosions in residential areas, production facilities and forest fires continues to be high. The sharp increase in electricity demand during hot days also increases the risk of localized overload of the power system.
Experts recommend that people limit direct sun exposure for a long time, supplement enough water and electrolytes to prevent dehydration, exhaustion or heat shock.
