According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the next 24-48 hours, heavy rain will occur in many places across the country, especially in the Northern and North Central regions.
Cold air combined with high-altitude wind convergence will cause widespread rain. It is forecasted that during the day and night of May 10, the mountainous areas of the North will have moderate rain, some places will have heavy rain with thunderstorms, with common rainfall from 20-50mm, some places will exceed 100mm.
From the afternoon and night of May 10, rain will spread to the Northern Delta and midlands with rainfall from 30-70mm, where very heavy rain can reach over 150mm.

In the North Central region, from the afternoon of May 10 to the morning of May 11, moderate to heavy rain will appear, locally very heavy rain, rainfall of 30-70mm, some places may exceed 150mm. The risk of heavy rain (over 80mm in 3 hours) poses many potential natural disaster risks.
The rainy weather also appears in many other places. On the evening of 9.5, the North and Thanh Hoa areas have scattered showers and thunderstorms, local heavy rain from 15-30mm, where the highest is over 60mm. Meanwhile, central central has showers, some places are heavy from 10-30mm, some points above 60mm. The Central Highlands and Southern regions in the evening have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, the common rainfall from 15-30mm, the highest place over 60mm.
Weather forecast from May 11 shows that heavy rain tends to decrease in areas, however, people still need to be vigilant with dangerous weather patterns.
Natural disasters accompanied by heavy rain include: tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind; risk of flash floods in small rivers and streams, landslides in steep mountainous areas and flooding in low-lying areas, urban areas, industrial parks.
