According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from March 30 to April 2, the weather in the Northwest region and provinces from Thanh Hoa to Hue City is likely to experience hot weather, with the highest temperature commonly 35-37 degrees Celsius, in some places above 38 degrees Celsius.
In the two days of March 30-31, the Northern Delta may also experience widespread hot weather, with temperatures fluctuating from 35-36 degrees Celsius, in some places exceeding 36 degrees Celsius. This is identified as the first hot spell in 2026 in the North and appears earlier than the multi-year average.
Data from Accuweather shows that the temperature in the North in the first two days of next week may increase by 7-8 degrees Celsius compared to the present, commonly in the range of 25-36 degrees Celsius. In high mountainous areas over 1,500 m such as Sa Pa (Lao Cai), the temperature fluctuates from 15-26 degrees Celsius.

The meteorological agency warns that hot weather accompanied by reduced air humidity increases the risk of fires and explosions in residential areas, and also increases the risk of forest fires in mountainous areas. People may also face health risks such as dehydration, exhaustion, heatstroke or heat shock if exposed to high temperatures for a long time.
Notably, compared to the climate law, the time of hot weather this year comes earlier in many areas. In the Northwest and Northeast regions, the hot spell at the end of March comes earlier than the multi-year average by about 15-20 days, and in some places earlier by 15-25 days.
The area from Thanh Hoa to Hue recorded hot weather about 7-10 days earlier. Meanwhile, in the South Central Coast, the first hot weather in 2026 may appear from the end of March to the beginning of April, about 20-35 days earlier than the multi-year average (usually from the end of April to the beginning of May).
Regarding the weather trend in the coming time, from April 2026, hot sun will appear in the Northwest and some places in the Northwest Central region, then gradually expand to the area from Thanh Hoa to Hue. By the end of May, hot sun is likely to spread throughout the North and Central regions, increasing intensity and maintaining intense intensity in June-August.
From September 2026, hot weather tends to gradually decrease. However, the number of hot sunny days this year is forecast to be more and more intense than the same period in 2025, posing a potential risk of increasing extreme weather phenomena.
On hot sunny days, people and tourists need to limit going out during the time frame from 11 am to 4 pm, which is the time when the temperature is at the highest level of the day.
When moving or working outdoors, it is necessary to fully equip yourself with sun protection measures such as hats, long-sleeved shirts, glasses, sunscreen; and at the same time supplement enough water, avoiding the body from falling into a state of dehydration and exhaustion.
For tourists, especially visitors at outdoor tourist attractions, mountain climbing, exploring or participating in physical activities, it is necessary to proactively monitor weather forecasts, arrange suitable schedules, and avoid moving during peak sunshine.
