The interaction between the weakening cold air mass and the hot and humid air mass from the sea may cause forecasts of thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, even hail and strong gusts of wind, especially in the North.
In fact, the winter of 2025-2026 in the North is recorded to be unusually warm. According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the average temperature in the three main winter months (December 2025 - February 2026) reached about 18.21 degrees Celsius, higher than the multi-year average of 1.67 degrees Celsius and in the group of highest in the history of observation.
Regarding the cold air trend, from now until the end of March 2026, cold spells are forecast to be weak, only appearing about 1-2 spells and mainly causing showers and thunderstorms, with little chance of causing deep cold.
In April, cold air may still appear but with weak intensity, often only contributing to weather disturbances and increasing interseasonal rains.
Overall, the weather forecast trend from April to June 2026 shows that the temperature across the country is close to the multi-year average, especially the North may be slightly higher. From July to September 2026, the average temperature across the country is forecast to continue to be about 0.5-1 degree Celsius higher.
