Strong cold air causes cold rain before Tet
According to new weather forecasts from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the period from February 7 to 9 (December 20-22), Hanoi and the Northern region are likely to be affected by a moderate to strong cold air wave, causing widespread cold rain.
Hanoi weather forecast clearly turns cold, accompanied by rain and showers; the midland and mountainous areas of the Northern region are at risk of severe cold and frost.
During this cold air wave, the lowest temperature in Hanoi and the Northern Delta is commonly 12-15 degrees Celsius, the highest temperature during the day is about 15-18 degrees Celsius. Cloudy weather, feeling cold increases due to high humidity and rain.
From February 10th to 13th (December 22nd - 26th of the lunar calendar), the North will continue to be affected by weak cold air, with a tendency to shift to the east around February 11th. Hanoi weather in this period will maintain a cloudy state, with light rain in some places, fog in the early morning; especially the coastal area may experience light rain, sunny skies in the afternoon.
The lowest temperature in Hanoi and the Northeast region is commonly 13-16 degrees Celsius, the highest temperature increases to 19-22 degrees Celsius, the cold gradually decreases but is still cold at night and early morning.

In the first days of February, Hanoi's weather is relatively stable, little rain, the temperature gradually increases. From February 4 to 6, it will be cloudy, no rain, the temperature during the day will fluctuate from 24-27 degrees C, at night 16-21 degrees C, feeling comfortable.
From February 7th to 8th, when cold air arrives, Hanoi will be cloudy, with rain and showers, and temperatures drop rapidly.
February 8th is forecast to be the coldest time in the intensified cold air wave, the highest temperature is only about 17 degrees Celsius, the lowest is 14 degrees Celsius.
After that, from February 9 to 13, the rain will gradually decrease but there will still be scattered light rain on the days of 11-13. 2. Hanoi temperature will increase slightly, the highest commonly 21-24 degrees C, the lowest 14-19 degrees C, the weather will maintain a cloudy, humid and cold state.
