According to the new weather forecast from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the strongest cold air mass since the beginning of the season is spreading to our country.
On land around November 17, this cold air mass will affect the Northeast and North Central regions, then affect the Northwest and Central Central regions.
The Northeast wind on land will increase to level 3-4, strong coastal winds of level 4-5, causing many fluctuations in the weather in the Central region.
From November 17-18, cold air combined with high-altitude easterly wind disturbances will cause widespread heavy rain in the area from Ha Tinh to Khanh Hoa, while the North Central region will turn cold from the night of November 17, with the lowest temperature commonly 12-15 degrees Celsius.
In the past 24 hours, the Central Central region has had scattered rain. The weather forecast for the next 24-48 hours shows rapid rainfall, concentrated from the night of November 15 to November 17.
From South Quang Tri to Da Nang City and the East of the provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa will have heavy to very heavy rain, rainfall from 100-250 mm, some places exceeding 350 mm. Ha Tinh to Bac Quang Tri will have moderate and heavy rain of 70-150 mm, locally over 250 mm.
The West of Quang Ngai to Dak Lak will continue to have moderate to heavy rain on November 16-17, with rainfall of 50-80 mm, some places over 150 mm.
From the night of November 17 to the end of the night of November 18, heavy rain will peak in Hue City, Da Nang City, the East of Quang Ngai and Gia Lai with rainfall of 200-400 mm, locally over 500 mm; many other areas of the Central region will record total rainfall of 300-600 mm, some places over 850 mm.
From November 19, widespread heavy rain will continue from Da Nang to Khanh Hoa. At the same time, the cold air will continue to make the North Central region cold, especially in high mountainous areas with severe cold.
Heavy rain is forecast to be especially dangerous with the possibility of flooding in urban areas and low-lying areas, flash floods on small rivers and streams and landslides on steep slopes.
Strong winds and large waves at sea from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai (level 6-7, gusting to 8-9) put ships at risk.
The natural disaster risk warning is level 1, especially in Hue City, Da Nang City, the East of Quang Ngai and Gia Lai, it is level 2, it is necessary to closely monitor weather forecasts and proactively respond.
Tourists traveling through the Central region during the period of November 15-19 should closely monitor weather forecasts, especially in Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai and Khanh Hoa where heavy rain continuously appears.
Prepare warm clothes when moving in the evening and early morning. For marine tourism activities, it is necessary to limit going out to sea because strong winds - large waves can endanger ships and services at sea.
