Georgia the green lands

The nature in Georgia is covered in a dreamy green color, like famous paintings.

The Republic of Georgia, a West Asian country, has gone through many different governments of European and Asian countries over the centuries. Therefore, this country wears a unique culture with majestic architectural works.

However, during her trip, Ms. Tu Thi Ly Na (40 years old, Quang Nam) spent most of her time exploring the majestic nature of Georgia. As a mountain climber, the country located near the border between Asia and Europe with this typical mountain terrain has long been among the dream destinations of female tourists and companions.

"Antiquated" route

After 12 days of Ly Na in Georgia, the weather has improved. A deep blue color covers the surrounding nature. However, the further the capital Tbilisi is, towards the mountainous areas, the more unpredictable the weather is. The temperature difference between day and night is large, the afternoon is hot but it will turn cold in the evening and early morning.

The Vietnamese female tourist expressed: Before and during the trip, I had a strong impression of Svaneti - a land

historically in northwestern Georgia, bordering Russia. This place still preserves prominent Medieval villages with stone defensive towers, covered with snow-covered mountain peaks and deep canyons.

To satisfy her desire to explore, she chose Mestia, the capital of Svaneti, for 4 days. From the capital Tbilisi, her group rented a full car to drive through Mtskheta, Uplistsikhe, Akhaltsikhe before arriving in Mestia.

Mesti is a small town in the Caucasus region at an altitude of 1,500m above sea level. The town has a variety of natural landscapes from hills, lakes, rivers and streams with a romantic beauty imbued with Georgia. In 2022, Mestia received the title of one of the world's leading tourist destinations.

Here, Ms. Ly Na's group chose to walk a long distance to get the most complete view of Koruldi Lake and the surrounding nature. The 22km route took the Vietnamese female tourist 10 hours, the road was steep but easy to travel. However, to save time, Ms. Ly Na suggested that other tourists could also drive to conquer the road.

As for Ms. Ly Na, "the hard work is tiring but worthy". Ho Korudli was as surprised as a mirror. After finishing the route, she sat down, relaxed and admired nature. The beautiful flower carpets along the lake are enough to captivate her.

On the walking path, she occasionally encounters a very poetic wooden house. The fresh air, although lacking in sunshine, the beauty of the natural scenery still seems to come out of a fairy tale.

Before leaving Mestia, Ly Na's group visited Ushguli, a cluster of four villages in the Enguri canyon. Here, visitors can explore famous check-in locations such as: Lamaria Church, Queen Tamar's palace, and Enguri Valley sightseeing spot.

Because Ushguli is relatively small, visitors can take the marshrutka bus from the center and then walk to visit the village's attractions. In Ushguli, visitors only need to travel during the day to have enough time to explore and take photos. The distance from both way and back to Mesti is about 80km, taking about 3 hours.

A land worth experiencing

During this trip to Georgia, Ms. Ly Na also enjoyed the long walking routes she experienced in Kazbegi town.

Instead of spending nearly 500,000 VND on a jeep, she and her companion chose a detour from the motel, crossing a small hill to Gergeti Trinity Church for a 4km journey.

The group departs at 4pm to watch the sunset and then return to their accommodation around 7pm. The road is easy to travel, but there are many gravel and it is easy to slip.

Gergeti Trinity Church stands out with its yellow arch, located on a 2,170m high mountain top and built in the 14th century. It still preserves many relics from Mtskheta in the 18th century, including the cross of St. Nino brought here for safe storage.

During this trip, although the food in Georgia is not rich and there are not many options, it is quite suitable for Ly Na's taste.

She said: I really like the traditional handmade melted cheese cakes and the charcoal-burned skewers here, eating it without getting bored. The soaked fruit teas are also very delicious, stimulating the taste buds".

Georgia, for Ly Na, is a once-in-a-lifetime destination for travel enthusiasts.

This country is safe, even for single tourists of any gender, the cost of living is not high, the culture and scenery are rich, completely different from Vietnam, the female tourist concluded.
